The milestone shipment is part of a multi-system order from Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc. (ASE).

From the press release:

"At ASE, we have built our reputation on offering customers an unparalleled manufacturing efficiency and access to a large base of high-performance IC testing equipment," said John Chuan, senior vice president of Test & Bumping Operation, ASE Kaohsiung. "With Verigy's V93000 platform, we have installed a flexible testing capability that enables us to further improve our process reliability and quality assurance."

"The V93000's proven performance and scalability continue to generate market wins worldwide, making it the de facto tester of choice throughout the industry," said Hans-Juergen Wagner, executive vice president of SOC test at Verigy, an Advantest Group company. "Our longevity and leadership in the SOC test market can be attributed to the innovations that we've continuously incorporated in the V93000 since its introduction over a decade ago."

The V93000 platform has the versatility to test both SOC and system-in-package (SiP) devices that are used in a wide range of end products, from digital televisions to wireless communication devices. The accuracy and high throughput of the V93000 enable customers to quickly ramp to production, shortening their time to market. Since its launch in 1999, the V93000 SOC platform has been used in engineering and for the production of multiple generations of logic and high-speed memory ICs at integrated device manufacturers (IDMs), fabless companies and outsource assembly and testing (OSAT) suppliers worldwide.
